Hi to all, been flying a blade cx 2 contra bladed heli to get to grips with flying but now i have a T-rex 450 x ( old hde model )came as a kit with b/l motor, esc and a Robbe g-200 piezo gyro.
I have been told this gyro won,t be no good for a learner as its a standard gyro and to get a heading hold gyro, can someone help me on this to know what to use please, many thanks.

First heli - ic or electric?

I have been flying the simulator (Phoenix) for some time now using the transmitter I purchased (DX7) and am about ready to get my first real heli. I was thinking of getting the Raptor 30 but past experience with nitro cars has put me off a little. It smells, its corrosive and it gets everywhere! What would be a good 30/50 size electric heli to go for (or should I stick with IC?) and why?

Hi all

I've become interesting in helis and i have a few questions! I have been looking at the Raptor 30 V2 is this a good place to start??
I have found a club i could join but seem to keep missing the heli flyers!!

Another question i have is regarding electrics, would it be better looking at getting Tx, Rx, servo and gyros from the same manufacture?
As i have been looking at one of these new non-crystal 2.4gHz Tx.

Am i going along the right lines and can anyone give me any more useful advice please

Cheers

I'm new to all this, but looking at several heli's, keep coming back to the Raptor 30 V2......It looks ideal for a beginner, but I also see the Titan 50, and am wondering if it would be better to just go for the Titan? Is is suitable for a beginner?

Back to basics!

Hi,

This is just a quickie to all begginers. I have been going through a bit of a bad patch in this hobby and it really has started to get to me, not enough to give up no way! but enough to be less interested in flying and more sitting about smoking or eating!!! smilie

What my problem is, is that i can steer the helicopter around the sky doing loop and rolls in a fashion. and a bit of pitch pumping and a few pathetic metronomes. But i didnt seem to progress from this stage, as i still struggle with some orentations.

So i have decided to go back to basics and stick the sticks back on and learn to fly properly and skillfully. As i am struggling to fly low figure of eights at the same height smooth it really isnt that boring. Just fustrating. And if you keep it less than 6 inches off the ground you cant break it.

What i am getting at is this; Dont run before you can walk. I did and have tripped up many times and without the great bunch of guys at the peatling club i would have given up by now.

Good Luck!

P.s I here you are off your sticks now Gwyri. Your doing better than me im going backwards. (Not flying backwards either smilie )

Stan

Hello I am new to flying Heli's. I bought myself a century swift and I am starting to learn how to fly, tho I am seeking for someone in Northern Ireland that can help me along or even a learner which I can learn with.

Also is there any other clubs near Antrim as I contacted Langford Heli club but there fully booked.

Many thanks
