Hello.
Currently this site is under construction. Nearly finished though, but at this time, next to know one is aware it exists. smilie
So unfortunitly at this time, there are only heli pilots who fly from leicester and its surrounding areas.

Leicester heli flyers flys off a field at peatling magna, south side of leicester. If you go to www.model-helicopters.com/leicesterheliflyers, there is a locations page, along with fees and a couple of shots of the site.

There is a small group of pilots flying out near Hinckley. For this group, you would be best to contact Trevor and Mat in midland helicopters. (01455 637762).Both of them have joined that group recently.

It really depends where you are. smilie If you have a look in the CLUB LINKS on the MHC home page, there are plenty of model clubs in there to browse through.

I do know that the Leicester group at Peatling are not too active at the moment, due to the rather cold wet or windy weather and crimbo being on our backs.

Please be patient with this site, as it will be publicized in the new year, which should achieve a large amount of active members to post and comment in these forums.

Thanks for registering and posting.
I hope the above is of some help.

Hi.

This is great to read that you have made a good choice in helicopter.
i had a Sceadu when they first came out. They have an uncanny accurate feel to them.
They track so well and handle the winds too.
I personally would say that the Sceadu has a better confident feel to it than the Raptor 30-50.
And it looks a more traditional helicopter in the style of the canopy.

Where is you local club? will you be joining others to start the flying?
Your local club will no doubt have some helpful types who can give it a check over to ensure things are as they should be and even give it a test hover etc.
You just never quite know if things are set as they should be , best for a beginner unless you have seen it hover and been advised of the setup..

I hope you get on well with you new machine.

Hi,

The nearest club to me is going to be the one at peatling, live in leicester forest east. I emailed you last week and you said that the sceadu was better that the raptor. (you also said pop down and see what everyone else is flying but the money was burning a hole in my pocket lol!) but im glad you think i made the right choice.

Thanks for all your input
Now i just need to learn to fly! smilie

Hi.
I guess it seamed a bit odd that it was recomended that you concidered a Sceadu, but every one had a raptor smilie smilie .

You have made a good choice for sure.
You might like to bend the credit card etc and get that zimmerman muffler sooner rather than later.
It will not only make a difference to the tone of the machine, but will definitly benefit the ease of engine setup, and keep the whole model so much cleaner.
See if you can tweak that engine slightly to get a better line up. If unsure, just pop up the field next time with the silence off, so we can undo the engine mount screws with ease and give it a little tweak theropy. smilie smilie

I reckon between the lads at the field and your self, we can get that machine setup best for you and in the air without you having to take it back and wait for weeks. smilie

Catch up with you soon eh.
p.s. only one bit is half working but you can go see the new section under construction.
If you go to
www.model-helicopters.com/analyse_1.php

the only bit that does anything is the top right servo usage. Click on a servo, I suggest 8231 JR. and confirm.
The next page is getting better. I am going to cram more info in.
See the break downs of size of heli and where people have used it. I have just coded a bar graph at the bottom to show an over view of percentage use through all models in the database. (in putted by members).

All good stuff eh.

HI.
Glad that page came up. Have added a few more bits.
yep, two weeks then.
I would have thought you could have finished the full build.
Any questions, just post a thread in here or maybe the hub. We and others can answer.

Oh and you will find that in the library of servos, the S3050 Futaba is now listed.
So you can either input the new model, or update it to these.

All adds to the information database for all to use FOC.

cheers
Si smilie

Which i know you can buy! what effects will it have on my control over the heli or am i best to nip to midland on saturday and buy some dual conversion ones? Have searched google but found nothing!
