The next step after the Raptor 30 was the Raptor 50 by Thunder Tiger. By stretching the boom and ajusting the gear ratio, this helicopter became more stable, more powerfull as a very successful offering on the market.| Gwyri Sedai | |

Hi Guys, Thought I'd share this with you. I have just completed building my baby. I'm quite proud of myself because it's the first time I've completed a project like this without asking for help Here is a pic of my baby (it's male by the way ) I have kitted it out with Futaba 3003 servos OS 50 Hyper Engine Futaba R136F reciever Battery Checker and a 240 Gyro. Has anyone any opinion on Futaba kit? If so what is your Opinion? ![]() |

Raptors are very good but they do pitch up a little. But they are very nices to fly I think there the best (.idea.) Matt |

Hi. Well the 3003 is about the lowest spec servo futaba do. Speed and torque are not the best and not being digital, it won't have the centering acuracy to compliment these heading lock gyros. For basic hovering about and straight line flight etc, I am sure the s3003 would be fine. But if you are finding the odd time where it goes out of line or other issues that could be better, then a quality servo is a must. The level you go to has to be a personal choice based on what you do with the machine and more important maybe, just how much you want to put into one servo. (.confused.) The gy610 and gy611 are both on another league. Their acuracy and hold are legendry which is why most of the top pilots use them. Indeed masses of pilots use them to ensure that the tail locks while developing new 3d skills. With both, there are specific extremly high spec servos. The Gy610 and GY611 actually give no choices in that you have to use these high spec digital servos. You would be gob smacked at the vice grip they achieve in all areas. But at a "higher price" for sure. It would appear that buying abroad saves incredible amounts of money now. Alex has various contacts abroad of which he is buying his new heli components. You might pick up on those contacts if you consider upgrading in the future. I have asked Alex for the sites, because he sure has the nack of finding a wicked deal!. I am not sure it would be worth getting a gy401 while using a S3003. It might be a better investment to buy a better digital tail servo? I don't know what sort of things you are doing with the titan (or will be doing). If you are still working on the main foundation of flying, then a gy240 and S3003 is probably fine. I mean, why spend the dosh if there is no real need eh .Mind you it is nice to have the bling that give more confidence in the model chow si |

At the moment I have an S3003 as the tail servo but I am willing to change for the better. So, you are saying that a 601 & a 611 are alot better as far as gyros are concerned? There is a 401 on ebay at the minute but it still has 6 days bidding to go so, i'm not going to bid yet Graham 1 |

Hi. Well I've done nothing to the coding as yet and the pictures are flying in now and showing ok. So that's all good. I have never used the gy240 but I have the gy401. For a 50 machine the GY401 is great. I did fly a 90 with one in and when a lot of pitch and was being bashed about, it did tend to kick out a tad. But for those bigger powerful models when you intend to work um, then the ultimate GY601 and GY611 come into play. Maybe ebay might see a gy240 one day soon and you pick up a gy401 to get that tail locked while allowing you to turn the heading lock on and off from the hand set as and when you wish. It does naturally all relate to the tail servo choice though si |

Graham. Don't punctuate the posts dude. Your last post in this thread is clipped again. It can't be the use of / because it works for me. When I posted that picture again but with the / removed it worked last night. Now I can't see picture in my post, which seams to mean that the picture has gone from the location you put it in. Here is a linked in picture that is online. Lets see if this sticks around. ![]() Not too sure whats going on here, but it is a new site under construction and test. I guess I wil crack all these litte issues in time. sozz for the trouble. si (adminmain) |
