Hi,

After a couple of weeks of sadness, im now a happy guy. After purchasing a GP Exhuast for my ys 56, I found that it wasnt a nice sounding exhaust like i had been told. After hearing the long version it sounded very smooth and very quiet (Compared to some). Problem was i was told that both the long and short pipes were the same! Diffinately not the case. The short pipe is lound and harsh. After discovering this, i approached midland and they was aware of the problem but, wouldnt let me exchange the pipe for a long one. Not very fair really! smilie

HOWEVER,

I AM NOW REALLY HAPPY AS MAT AT MIDLAND, HAS KINDLY REMOVED HIS OWN PIPE FROM HIS PERSONAL HELICOPTER AND GIVEN IT TO ME AS GP PIPES ARE NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. I DONT KNOW WHY THE CHANGE OF MIND. BUT I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THE CUSTOMER SERVICE I GOT TODAY MANY THANKS.

P.S As i was in a good mood i treated myself to a little square futaba piece of shite that some may call a gyro smilie smilie smilie

Yoh Stan.

Good news there!
You will notice a huge difference between your original short pipe and the longer version.
As previously mentioned, I now have the long GP 50 pipe and it is a superb item. A soft tone yet plenty of power and consistency.

So now yours slips back into normality.
We shall all have to be the judge as to whos heli becomes the loudest bird scarer at our field. smilie smilie

Mat ( at midland ) won't miss his exhaust as he does not fly much anyway smilie .
As for that Futaba square jobbie. With an educated guess I would assume its the latest offering from Futaba, being the GY520.
I now have two of these, one being fitted in my Matthews flybarless 600. Stunning gyro, giving an even better feel and lock to the Spartan.
Best gyro of all I have flown or owned over 27 years and darn small.

I owned the Gy501, Gy502, Gy601 and Gy611 from the Futaba range over the years and this Gy520 even out flys the GY611 for me!!. Mind you, I have only had these in my 50 sized machines, so maybe the added torque of a 90 would show a difference in the Gy611. I doubt it though.

See yu all at the field soon. smilie

Yo,

Yep cant wait to get some flying in hopefully its going to be a good summer. Im hoping to get up all day saturday and sunday if possible. Been practicing hard on the sim and feeling strong to try some inverted circuits.

Spot on Si, its the gy520. Only downside is that im running a ds620, cant afford a 8900g or bls jobbie yet. Not got alot of confidence in the align servo and seen that they fail after around 40 flights.

SO whos rain dodging tomorrow then and sunday then?

(Quote)Only downside is that im running a ds620, cant afford a 8900g or bls jobbie yet. Not got alot of confidence in the align servo and seen that they fail after around 40 flights.(/Quote)OH dear, whats that all about..

From mine and Mat's perspective, Mat has 620 Align on not only his rudder with Gy520, but also on all three cyclic servos. So far his have been faultless and he has given it some bashing.

Maybe if you spank the heli in the deck, they damage internally?? Like gears or electronics?? I also know that Sceadu Abuser had been using these Align servos and flown them big time hard to the point of his model failing in flight, yet his 610's remained fine...

As for wondering if the tail can work well with a GY520 and DS620, absolutly it can because Mat is giving his shed loads of fast hard backwards flight with that exact combination and the rudder is nailed!!.

For sure you now have an incredible little combination with the YS56, GP pipe, align servos and gy520!.

Just keep checking your use of "thread lock" so that things don't fail.. Heaven forbid anything might fly off.. like rotorhead parts smilie smilie smilie
